Educator of the Year - 2009

Educators of the Year 2009

Purpose:

The SVSF Educator of the Year program is an annual award developed to recognize and honor Educators in the Snoqualmie Valley School District for excellence in education. Three Educators each year may be honored based on competitive nominations received:

  • 1 Preschool-5 teacher
  • 1 6-12 teacher
  • 1 Classified employee (Classified employees include personnel from departments including custodial, food services, transportation, maintenance, office, etc.)

Anyone can nominate an Educator: students, parents, other educators or members of the community. We encourage you to nominate an Educator.

Eligibility:

Nominees must be a staff member employed by the Snoqualmie Valley School District for at least three years.

Criteria:

Criteria considered for selection includes:

  • Inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn.
  • Has the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Plays an active and useful role in school climate.
  • Demonstrates the importance of collaboration.

Process:

An independent Selection Committee comprised of business and community members will review applications.

Finalists will be notified in February, and honored at the Annual Spring Fundraising Luncheon.
