Classroom Grants:
Eggs, Fry, and Salmon, Oh My!:These 4th graders will experience hands-on raising of Chinook Salmon in the classroom. Then release in the Snoqualmie River. Kamishibai and Fables:6th grade students will create and illustrate this form of Japanese storytelling and share with 1st grade students. Salish Sea Expedition:Geology and Chemistry students will board the Salish Sailboat to collect and research sediment samples of the Puget Sound. Meadowbrook Way:This ever popular student-created magazine boasts student collections. Voyage to Mars:This space flight simulation provides students the opportunity to experience space flight and mission control / team building. Bringing Australia to Life:During their Australia unit, these 130 first grade students will have a live wallaby visit their classroom. Granting a Shakespeare Dream:Scholarship support to off-set the cost of attending the Ashland Shakespearean Festival. Science Learning with GPS:Students will use this Global Positioning Systems to map and conduct authentic research projects. Instruments for Instruction / Inspiration:The music program will be enhanced at this school with the use of these new music instruments. InFocus X1a Video Projector:This great motivational tool will enhance student learning by making Videostreaming and other media more visible. Bringing the Outback to Snoqualmie:As a conclusion to their Australia Unit, these 60 first graders will have a wallaby visit their classrooms. |
Roving Lab Computers:“Student Built” Mobile Lab Computers to be used in 7 MSHS science classrooms. Writing Fones:These PVC pipe ‘Fones’ will allow students to hear their writing as they read it to themselves. Student Science Seminars:This laptop will allow students to present their seminar presentations in a high quality professional manner. Celebrating Washington History:A trip to Camp Waskowitz will give 88 students the experience of hands-on Snoqualmie Valley pioneer living. Facilitating Scientific Inquiry and Wonder:These compound microscopes and Elmo digital projector will bring scientific wonder to life in a big way. Visual Projector Equipment:At last! These students will now be able to see the maps and diagrams in Social Studies and World Geography. Geo Point:Hand held GPS devices will be used to record way points and create relocatable information caches. Celebrate Washington Heritage:Fourth grade classes will visit Camp Waskowitz for a day of handson Snoqualmie Valley pioneer living. Creatures of the Night:Point Defiance Zoo will present two separate presentations to six first grade classrooms. Art of the Salish Native American:A well-known Native Am. Storyteller and artist will visit the classrooms of over 300 students for storytelling and art. ACTIVboard Integration:This cutting edge technology consists of a whiteboard connected to a computer. Students and teachers can create their work, save it, and print it out. Protect the JAZZ:Up to date equipment, accessories and resources will only enhance this stellar music program. |
