Educator of the Year Program

Our annual program developed to recognize and honor exemplary educators in the Snoqualmie Valley School District.

2020 EOY Winners:

Four educators are honored each year, including one from each of the following categories:

  • Preschool through 5th grade certificated staff (teacher, counselor, principal, librarian, etc.)

  • 6th grade through 8th grade certificated staff

  • 9th grade through 12th grade certificated staff

  • Classified staff (custodian, food services, transportation, maintenance, office staff - both school or district office, para-educators, tech support etc.)

Nomination Process

An educator can be nominated by students, parents, educators or other members of the community. The nominee must be a staff member employed by the Snoqualmie Valley School District in at least their third year with the district. Candidates are educators who inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn, have the respect and admiration of students, parents, and colleagues, lead by example and play an active and useful role in the scholastic environment. Please include 2 letters of support, one by a student and the second from a colleague (but not a supervisor), parent, community member or other knowing individuals. The nomination narrative may be used as one of the letters of support. Support from a variety of sources provides the selection committee with a broad picture of the candidate!

An independent selection committee comprised of community leaders will review applications. Winners will be notified by the first week of March and honored at the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation’s annual spring luncheon.
